Gemstones

A soft flannel cloth will polish most stones. To remove dirt, mild soap and water can be used on most gems, except amber, coral, emerald, jade, kunzite, lapis lazuli, opal, or turquoise.

Wipe your amber gently with a damp cloth to remove body oils. Keep your amber protected in a soft material such as velvet and if your jewellery is made with silver, consider an air-tight bag to keep the silver from tarnishing. Avoid very dry or extreme heat conditions.
